1. The final week for HarvestCall sewing will be Tuesday and Thursday this week, 2-5 PM. No sign-up sheet will be used.

2. Woodhaven at Bay City is in need of a combination Caregiver/Facility Manager. The position is full time with generous benefits such as fully paid family health care, paid time off and a funded pension plan. It includes two days of general administrative work, staff scheduling, food purchasing and three days per week of direct caregiving. Feel free to contact any one of the ministers or Bro. 3. The 2021 LifePoints Gospel Sing will be held on Saturday, May 1st, at 6:00 PM CST. The event will primarily be held online with a live-stream of the Covenant Chamber Choir’s performance, but we do have a limited number of seats available for those interested in attending in-person at the Five Points auditorium in Washington, IL. Tickets can be reserved for free online through our website www.aclifepoints.org. We are excited to be celebrating our 50th anniversary together this year, whether it be in person or online!

All are welcome at the baptism. Due to the increasing coronavirus cases in our area, we will not be having a meal following the baptism service.

4. Apostolic Christian Highland Oaks is in search of a Director of Nursing for our skilled nursing facility. We are a 50-bed facility located in Elgin, Illinois. Our small size has helped foster a family-like community and we’re looking for one who can lead our nursing department in continuing to fulfil our mission of providing “Loving care to the glory of God.” This is a full-time position and includes benefits. 4. After over 20 years of bagging beans, first with World Relief and currently HarvestCall, the difficult decision has been made to bring an end to the Bay City bean bagging operation. While this decision was indeed difficult, it was necessary due to the decreasing number of volunteers available in our congregation. However, bean bagging will not end immediately. We are simply notifying HarvestCall to begin the process of finding another congregation capable and willing to take over. Until that process is completed, Bay City will continue to bag beans as the need arises. This decision will not affect HarvestCall sewing, as we plan to continue this activity as long as we have willing volunteers.

1. Women's and Men’s Bible studies will begin on Monday February 1st at 7 PM in the church basement. For the men’s study, come ready to discuss Lesson 11 in the study on the gospel of John.

2. Harvest Call sewing will be Tuesday and Thursday, 2-5 PM. The sign-up sheet will be on the hallway podium. Please continue to wear masks and maintain 6 feet of social distancing as much as possible. No snacks will be provided. If you need a snack, you may bring one for yourself.

3. The Silver Lining periodically features an article compiled from our readers’ submissions on a given topic. The May 2021 topic is: "Select one of our nine guiding principles, and describe a time you witnessed this principle at work in our brotherhood.” Our recently articulated Guiding Principles may seem new, but the ideas behind the principles have been alive for many years, helping shape our church’s identity. After reviewing the nine guiding principles, share how you’ve seen Spirit-guided, principled living bring eternal benefit. 1. Women's Bible study will begin on Monday evening February 1st. We will be doing a 6-week study of the book of Habakkuk. If you are unfamiliar with Habakkuk, it is extremely relevant for the time in which we find ourselves living. All interested women are invited and welcome to attend.

2. We are also planning to resume the men’s Bible study of John’s gospel on Monday, February 1 st. This is a continuation of last winter’s study. We will be starting with Lesson 11. This is open to all men. If you need a study guide, please let Brother John know.

3. We will have sewing again on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2-5 PM. Continue to wear masks, please. No snacks will be provided. If you want a snack or beverage, please bring one for yourself. The signup sheet is in the back hallway.

4. The Peachtree City congregation is planning to put on a discipleship program again this year. The invitation has been sent with the announcements, and there is a copy on the bulletin board.

1. Apostolic Christian LifePoints is seeking applicants for the position of Executive Director. A position description has been posted in the Silver Lining and on AC Central. Instructions for applying for this position, along with additional information, is included in both of these locations. We encourage those who have an interest, are qualified, and have a heart for serving the intellectually and developmentally disabled community, to prayerfully consider submitting an expression of interest and resume. We ask our entire church body to be prayerful as we work through this very important process involving one of the primary mission activities of our church.

3. Lord willing, we plan to start having two Sunday services next Sunday, October 25th . Since we are not serving lunch, we thought it best to have both services in the morning. Therefore, for the first service we plan to start singing at 9:00 AM and go on the pulpit at 9:15; for the second service we plan to start singing at 10:30 and go on the pulpit at 10:45.

4. Sunday School would be during the second service, with singing in the Assembly starting at 10:30. Students and teachers would be dismissed from the Assembly at 10:40 to go downstairs.

5. We plan to have Communion this coming Saturday evening, Oct. 24th at 7:30 PM. Lord willing, Brother Lucas Frank from our Detroit congregation plans to be with us. As a reminder, this a member meeting.

6. We plan to continue playing the video recording of the General Conference on Wednesday evening at 7:30 PM. This will be the 2nd of 3 nights. All are welcome to attend.

1. Next Sunday afternoon (Oct. 11th) Mike and Cheryl will be hosting an open house/shower luncheon in their home from 12:30-2:30 in honor of Nathan and Kendra. Please see the informational sheet that is hanging on the mirror and podium in the lobby area for additional details.

2. The General Conference recordings are planned for this Wednesday, October 7th and the following Wednesday, October 14th. The General Conference was virtual this year and recorded on video. We plan to play the video recording upstairs in the assembly room both Wednesday nights.

3. Due to using a video projector the next two Wednesday nights, and the electrical cords that will be running down the center aisle, we plan to keep the enter doors to the assembly closed. Please plan to use either side aisle when entering and exiting the assembly the next two Wednesday evenings.

4. We are planning to re-open Sunday School on October 11th.

5. We are planning to hold our annual Communion service Saturday, October 24th .

6. The Communion exhortation is planned for Sunday, October 11th and everyone is invited to be present.

7. Brother Clint and Sister Moonlight Moser would like to thank each one who remembered them with thoughtful words, cards, messages and prayers during their time of grieving.

8. Operation Christmas Shoebox is completed for this year. We packed 75 Shoeboxes and we will be delivering them to the drop off site in November. A display is set-up in the entrance area showing the process of sorting the items and packing the boxes, We want to thank everyone for your help in completing this worthy project. Sisters Sharon Ramseyer and Rhonda Knochel.

1. Brother Gary Maibach (Smithville, OH) plans to be with us again this Sunday (9/20) to have the morning service. Let’s all be prayerful for Brother Gary, and may each of us come prepared to hear the Word.

2. Wednesday, September 23rd, Brother Brian Wenninger (Leo, IN) plans to be with us presenting the topic “Being the Salt and Light of the World”. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to grow in our walk with Jesus and be reminded of our calling as His disciples.

3. The General Conference recordings are planned for September 30th and October 7th .

4. Plans are currently underway to re-open Sunday School. More details including the reopening date will be provided in the coming week.

5. Sister Kathy Knochel has taken a job with Apostolic Christian Counseling and Family Services as a Clinical Counselor. This job allows her to remain in Bay City most of the time and perform her counseling online. For those who may want to counsel with Sister Kathy, you are welcome to contact her directly.

6. The 2020 Hospital Lumiere benefit auction will be an online virtual event. The online auction is planned to begin on Thursday November 5th at 4 PM and end on Saturday November 7 at 4 PM. The auction is a critical part of Hospital Lumiere’s support, and your item donations are what makes it possible. Items are needed by October 31. There is a “Hospital Lumiere” wish list on Amazon.com. Items purchased from this list can be shipped directly to Eureka. 3. Due to Sister Lois’ funeral service planned for Friday, we will not have Wednesday evening services this week. Therefore, we will postpone playing the General Conference recordings until Wednesday, September 16th .

4. As a reminder, the funeral arrangements for Sister Lois’ funeral are as follows: the visitation will be here at the church on Friday, September 11th from 11 to 1, with the funeral service beginning at 1 PM. All are welcome to attend the visitation and funeral service. The graveside service will be private and is being held at Floral Gardens Cemetery in Bay City. Also, the family has requested we maintain social distancing guidelines at the funeral and not greet them with a hug or handshake.

1. A note to share: Dear Church family, we thank you for the gifts of love, flowers, and

prayers you bestowed on us during Cheryl's time of surgery. There is such joy in the

body of Christ knowing we gain strength in walking side by side with others, lifting each

2. Letting everyone know, Sister Lorraine has taken the position to replace Sister Bonnie

at Woodhaven of Bay City.

3. We are continuing to cancel both the monthly Woodhaven at Bay City singing and

Rescue Mission service for the month of August.

4. Bean bagging is planned for Thursday evening, 6-8 PM at the Distribution Center. All

are welcome. And, due to the close working conditions, a face mask is required.

5. Regarding the Elder Meeting and General Conference scheduled for this week, the only

elders planning to meet in-person are the Elder Committee, Secretary, General

Conference presenters, specific committee presenters, and any of the active Illinois

elders who may choose to attend. The rest of the elders, including Brother John, will

participate virtually from their homes.

6. As announced two weeks ago, there is a Virtual General Conference planned for

Thursday, August 6th at 6 PM CDT. Registration is required. Please pray for the Elder

Meeting and General Conference that God’s leading and provision would continue

despite the circumstances.

7. Next Sunday, August 9th , ministering Brother Philip Schultz, from Burlington, Iowa, plans

to be with us and have the Sunday morning service.

8. We plan to begin in-person Wednesday evening services August 12th when Brother

Chet Manz, from Toledo, Ohio plans to be with us and speak on the topic: "Give us oil in

1. Our new Bay City church website is now live. The address remains the same. We just migrated to use the national Apostolic Christian Church template.

2. We are now using AC Central for live streaming our sermons. Also, our past sermons are in the process of being transferred over to AC Central. You can still go to our church website to listen live; it will just link you to AC Central.

3. Gateway Woods will be hosting their online benefit auction and virtual program this week. Thanks for your patience, prayers and support through this unique time. Registration for this year’s auction is now open and a link is available on our website (www.gatewaywoods.org/auction). Items are available now to preview and the Auction will open for bidding this Thursday at 8:00 AM EST. The Auction will remain open until Saturday afternoon, August 1st. There will also be a Live Virtual program broadcasted through Youtube and Facebook on Friday, July 31st at 8:00 PM EST that will include the Gateway Choir, testimonies, and a unique opportunity to engage with staff virtually. Thank you for investing in this mission of providing hope and healing to hurting children and families! We couldn’t do what we do without your prayers and support.

Greetings to each one, in the name of our precious Savior.

We continue to thank God for the blessing of gathering together for worship and fellowship.

We again are thankful for another visiting minister tomorrow. Brother Jason Dotterer and family

from Forrest, Illinois plan to be with us. Let’s not only be prayerful for Brother Jason, but may

each one prepare him or herself to hear the Word on Sunday morning.

Updating the current state of the covid-19 virus in our area – the number of positive cases in our

area is rising. While this is partly due to increased testing, we are also seeing an increase in the

positive test percentages in our area. Bay and Midland counties previously had a positive test

rate of 2% or less. They are now nearing 3% over the past week. Saginaw county is currently at

5%. Therefore, we are continuing to encourage wearing a mask in church, especially during

singing, to avoid spreading the virus unknowingly to those most susceptible, and to honor our

State’s requirement. Also, just a friendly reminder when we go outside for fellowship after the

service, to continue maintaining the recommended 6 feet of separation. If this separation cannot

be maintained, it is recommended to continue wearing a mask.

The following precautionary recommendations are still in place:

1. If you have any of the following symptoms, please refrain from attending: loss of taste or

smell, fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, headaches or sore throat.

2. If you have any of the following health conditions, please refrain from attending: chronic

lung disease, diabetes, asthma, obesity and compromised immune systems.

Note: Individuals over 65 are at increased risk of serious complications, per the CDC.

3. All are encouraged to wear a mask when inside the church building, mainly during singing,

to prevent the spread of the virus from individuals who may be positive but not know it. (It

is fine to remove your face mask when seated and not singing)

4. Please use the north parking lot and carport entrance. The other entrances will remain

locked.

5. Our intent is to keep the basement closed off, and only use the upstairs bathrooms, so

please plan to utilize bathrooms at home prior to arriving at church.

6. Once inside the church building, please do not spend a lot of time in the foyer. Instead,

proceed into the assembly and take a seat.

7. Please sit every other bench in the benches marked with blue tape.

8. Families that live in the same house my sit together. Otherwise, we ask that you sit at

least 6 feet away from others.

9. Once the service is over, please proceed outside the building for fellowship.

We are still only planning to gather for services on Sundays at this time. Wednesday services will

continue to only be online and over the phone.

Regarding our service schedule, Brother Jason Dotterer plans to have the service tomorrow

morning. Brother Neil plans to have the Wednesday evening service. We will continue livestreaming all services at the normal times.

Thank you for your continued understanding during these trying times. And, we know our God is

able to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

We continue to thank God for the privilege of fellowship and that we can worship Him together. It

is a blessing that not all the world enjoys.

I have no announcements for Sunday.

Just a few notes regarding Sunday’s worship together. We plan to have a visiting minister.

Brother David Maibach and family from Smithville, Ohio plan to be with us.

Regarding the current state of the covid-19 virus in our area – while the number of positive cases

in our area have risen, this is primarily due to increased testing. For the past several weeks, Bay

and Midland counties continue to see a positive test rate of 2% or less. Saginaw county is

considerably higher at 3-5% positive test rate over the past several weeks.

We are continuing to encourage wearing a mask in church, especially during singing, to avoid

spreading the virus unknowingly to those most susceptible, and to honor our State’s requirement.
